Forever Echoes ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Forever Echoes mobile application and website (foreverechoesapp.com). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from those services.

Content You Create: Stories, written chapters, voice recordings, interview transcripts, photos, book cover designs, and any other content you or your contributors submit through the app.

Usage Data: We collect analytics about how you use the app, including screens visited, features used, device type, operating system, and app version. This helps us improve the experience.

Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, we store your device token to send you updates about your Echoes.

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Forever Echoes service
• Create and deliver your personalized books
• Send notifications about Echo activity (contributor submissions, chapter updates)
• Process payments and fulfill print orders
• Improve our app and develop new features
• Respond to your requests and provide support
• Send important service announcements

You retain full ownership of all content you create and submit through Forever Echoes. We do not claim ownership of your stories, photos, or any creative content. We use your content solely to provide the service (generating chapters, creating books, etc.).

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:

• Account data and content are stored in encrypted databases (PostgreSQL on Neon/AWS)
• Photos and media files are stored on Cloudflare R2 with secure access controls
• Authentication tokens are encrypted and stored securely on your device
• All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption

We use the following third-party services:

• OpenAI / Anthropic: AI services for interview guidance and chapter generation. Your content is processed but not used to train their models.
• Stripe: Payment processing for book orders. We do not store your credit card information.
• Resend: Email delivery for notifications and password resets.
• Firebase/FCM: Push notification delivery.
• Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: Authentication services.
• Lulu: Book printing and fulfillment.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:

• With third-party services listed above, solely to provide our service
• With other contributors on an Echo you participate in (they see your name and chapter content)
• If required by law or to protect our rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data associated with your account
• Update: Edit your profile information at any time
• Delete: Delete your account and all associated data through the app (Settings → Delete Account)
• Export: Request a copy of your data by contacting us

Forever Echoes is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Printed books that have already been ordered and shipped cannot be recalled.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
